LEIGH LEOPARDS centre Tesi Niu has been accused of physical abuse by his partner.

The allegation was made on social media on Saturday along with images of damage said to have been caused by the abuse.

His partner, Kiani, claiming to be posting on Niu’s Instagram account, said the alleged abuse took place on Christmas Day.

Niu’s Instagram profile has since been deleted.

Leigh have been contacted for comment over the claims.

Niu, 24, signed for Leigh ahead of last season from the NRL’s Dolphins on a three-year deal and scored twelve tries in 30 appearances.

He previously played for Brisbane Broncos and has been capped three times by Tonga.
