FORMER Warrington Wolves flyer Matt Dufty has signed for NRL side South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The 30-year-old was released midway through his Warrington contract earlier this month, but has now signed a second-tier contract with the Rabbitohs and started training with the club last week.

“It’s a NSW Cup contract – not top 30 or development list,” Souths chief executive Blake Solly confirmed to Wide World of Sports.

Dufty began his career with the St George Illawarra Dragons, where he scored 44 tries in 82 NRL appearances, before moving on to Canterbury Bulldogs, but he would play just 12 times before being released.

The 30-year-old joined Warrington in 2022, scoring 47 tries in 88 games for the Wolves and even finishing second in the Man of Steel rankings in 2024.

But his performances last season – and on-field discipline when he was dropped in August – came under significant scrutiny.
