Keighley Cougars strengthen forward pack with loan signing from Castleford Tigers

KEIGHLEY COUGARS have taken Castleford Tigers forward George Hill on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old loose-forward or hooker has turned out 20 times for his parent club across the last two seasons and was involved in the recent warm-up game against Leeds Rhinos.

Hill spent part of last year with the old Salford Red Devils, featuring seven times, and has also had temporary stints at Whitehaven and Batley Bulldogs.

He played Rugby League for Sheffield Hawks and Doncaster Toll Bar and union for Doncaster Knights before joining Castleford’s Academy.

Hill is under contract with the Tigers until 2027, with the club having an option for a further year.

Castleford had previously loaned teenage prop Akim Matvejev to Keighley’s Championship rivals Batley for the season.
