ASSISTANT coach Ryan Sheridan knows Catalans Dragons must improve if they are to win their Challenge Cup quarter-final at St Helens on Friday.
After Catalans beat French rivals Toulouse Olympique 33-26 in an action-packed game, Sheridan said: “Relief is the word at the moment, that’s the emotion.
“It was a frustrating game, I didn’t think that we got going. We didn’t start well and the (Kruise Leeming) sin bin hurt us.
“We didn’t manage periods of the game well and for us it was scrappy and a stop-start affair but we’re happy to get the win. That’s the main thing.
“Defensively, I didn’t think we were great. There’s obvious areas that we will pick up on this week and moving forward into a tough period over the next few weeks.
“We know what we need to improve on individually and collectively and we’ll fix that up in practice and hopefully get to next week and put that into the game.
“The main thing now is to recover, put this one to bed and be happy with the two points.
“For French rugby league, tonight is fantastic. In terms of the quality on show, the tries that were scored and that the two teams were really competitive.
“Both of us wanted to put our best foot forward to be the best team in France.”
