Sam Tomkins predicts ‘tough times’ to continue at Wigan Warriors

SAM TOMKINS has predicted the ‘tough times’ to continue at Wigan Warriors following a poor run of form.

Matt Peet’s side has lost four games in a row – unprecedented for the Warriors – and face a tough fixture list in the next month or so.

Following a 23-6 loss to Warrington Wolves last weekend, Tomkins gave his assessment of Wigan and where they currently reside.

Live on Sky Sports, Tomkins said: “I think it’s going to take a massive effort for Wigan to get out of this, given the players they’ve got missing.

“Within the next five games, they’ve got to play St Helens (Challenge Cup), they’ve got to play Leeds, they’ve got to play Hull KR. They’re going to have some tough times.

“This team will get better, but it’s going to take a lot of effort.”

It doesn’t get any better for the Warriors, however, with Liam Marshall and Dayon Sambou both ruled out for three months following hamstring and PCL injuries respectively.

Bevan French still remains sidelined for Wigan, also.
