Adrian Lam ‘really happy’ with Leigh Leopards win

ADRIAN LAM was “really happy” with Leigh Leopards’ 24-14 win over Castleford Tigers.

The Leopards were down 8-0 within the blink of an eye courtesy of a Jason Qareqare effort and two Tom Weaver goals.

However, Leigh rallied to lead 16-8 at half-time and Lam’s men turned the screw after the break.

For that, Lam was proud of his players.

“It wasn’t pretty, but I’m really happy,” Lam said.

“It’s a tough place to come here and win, especially after not playing the week before.

“It’s always a challenge to come here especially when you give a team like Cas an 8-0 start.

“We put a lot of pressure on ourselves early on and we were clunky but it becomes an absolute nightmare if you let them score first.

“We knew it was going to be a challenge but I thought we played with a lot of courage and we were resilient.”
