Irish round-up: Banbridge Broncos beat Cork Bulls ahead of play-offs

CORK BULLS had the better of the beginning and closing stages of their fixture at BANBRIDGE BRONCOS.

But in between times the Broncos generally held sway to prevail 58-38, as CRAIG BEST reports.

The score was 58-18 before the Bulls closed with a flourish, posting unanswered tries by Ryan Spillane, Stephen Hennesey and, twice, Alex Kenefick, with Shane O’Sullivan completing a five-goal contribution.

Sam Douglas had given Cork an early lead, while O’Sullivan and Julian Power crossed either side of half-time.

Banbridge registered a brace apiece for Kyle Gallagher, Jon Sturgeon and Lurcan Kelly, with Wayne Kelly, JJ Baird, Jonathan Dunlop and Pat Quigley also racing in; Eoin Ratchford landed nine conversions.
