KURT HAGGERTY believes it is ‘pretty incredible’ what Bradford Bulls, Toulouse Olympique and York Knights have achieved so far in Super League in 2026.
All three promoted clubs were predicted to finish near the bottom of the Super League ladder, but all three are currently far off collecting the wooden spoon.
Heading into Round 20 of the top-flight campaign, Toulouse sit ninth and York tenth, whilst Bradford occupy eleventh, with Hull FC, Castleford Tigers and Huddersfield Giants all below them.
As such, all three clubs have defied expectations, and Haggerty believes more should be said about it.
“I think it’s pretty incredible if I’m honest,” said the Bulls boss.
“If you’d have spoken about this in Round eight or nine, I’d have batted it off a bit.
“All the promoted teams won their games at the weekend and we were predicted to fall off a cliff.
“To be all the way from the bottom at this point is incredible. It’s not spoken about enough that all three clubs won at the weekend, too.”
Did those predictions to fail spur Haggerty and his team on?
“In certain weeks, you can lead on it a little bit, but, ultimately it’s about focusing on yourself.
“You do keep an eye on how teams are getting on around you, but it changes week to week.
“We do try and focus on ourselves and not getting too far ahead. We never look too far forward.”
