Jim Lenihan takes encouragement from Huddersfield Giants defeat

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS boss Jim Lenihan expressed his pride despite a 24-10 loss to Wigan Warriors.

A twelfth defeat in a row makes their challenge of avoiding the wooden spoon in 2026 even harder, though the gritty and determined nature of their performance will give plenty of heart to Giants supporters.

“I’m certainly very proud of the boys,” said Lenihan. “I thought our effort was pretty good and we took the game deep and got into a position to win, but we just fell away at the back end.

“As much as skill is a massive part of the game, the physical, mental and small effort areas of the game, the invisible parts of the game, that’s what we’re basing our game on.

“We’re starting to get bigger and bigger patches of that happening, the next part is finding that consistently.”
