Leigh Leopards’ Bailey Hodgson out for rest of season with elbow injury

BAILEY HODGSON is set to miss the remainder of the 2026 season, having been released from hospital after ten days.

The Leigh Leopards star suffered an infection on an elbow injury and has had to have bits of bone removed in order to remove the infection, with a recovery time of four months.

“He got a bump on his elbow and he has had some issues with it in the past,” said Leigh coach Adrian Lam.

“He had some plates and screws and during one of our games he got a cut through there and it got infected.

“He got ill from it so it was one of those dangerous ones and potential career-ending injury was the feedback if there was a little poisoning on the bone.

“He only got out of hospital yesterday. It doesn’t look good, they have had to go into the bone to get the majority of the infection out.

“We are talking 16-plus weeks for the bone to heal.”

Props Robbie Mulhern and Joe Ofahengaue could return for the clash against Warrington Wolves on Saturday.
