DANNY LEVI has been cleared of any major damage to his neck following a sickening clash in Leeds Rhinos’ 36-34 loss to Castleford Tigers last weekend.
Play was stopped for ten minutes during that first-half clash as doctors from both teams looked to help the hooker.
The Rhinos were 20-4 up that point, but with the incident visibly shaking a number of players, the Tigers fought their way back to 20-16.
Looking back at the incident, Leeds boss Brad Arthur believes it impacted his side more than what he first thought.
“It probably had more of an effect than we realised,” Arthur said.
“I remember at the time when there was that lengthy stoppage, I didn’t send any messages out.
“I lost my focus on the team and what we were there for because my focus was more on Danny and his wife and daughter.
“I wanted to make sure they were ok.”
Levi was taken to straight to hospital, but he has now been cleared of any severe neck damage.
“He is in good spirits and back to his usual annoying self. He is fine and has recovered pretty well.
“He had another set of scans on Tuesday so we are waiting to hear back on those.
“There might be issues around a disc bulge but a lot of players have them and he has had one previously anyway.
“But, in terms of major damage, he has got the all clear.
“In terms of the concussion as well, he has got over that is pretty good.
“When he’s back, we don’t know but his health is first and foremost.”
