KURT HAGGERTY felt his Bradford Bulls side did enough to earn the win at Toulouse Olympique.
Instead the injury-hit side fell to a 28-18 defeat – their seventh in a row as they face the prospect of finishing in last place.
“I feel proud, but disappointed as I expected us to win no matter what team we put out there,” said Haggerty.
“We should have won the game but we lost a big moment late on (Luke Hooley missed an intercept ahead of Mathieu Jussaume’s clinching try) which cost us.
“But the overall reaction is pride. This group are fantastic. While we lack in experience, with lads playing out of position, I thought we had enough to win the game, but we didn’t.
“We brought on young Alfie Leake and Harvey Ward which was a great experience for them, and the senior boys have been great with them, which sums up this club and the work that we do.
“I had belief for the entirety of the game, I was confident in the way we played, especially after the first half when we tidied up a couple of worries we needed to fix.
“We’ve come through an adverse spell but I thought we’d get the win so I’m just gutted for the lads.”
