TOULOUSE OLYMPIQUE coach Sylvain Houles hailed the “remarkable” Luke Polselli after their 28-18 victory against Bradford Bulls.
The Australia-born Italy international joined Toulouse from London Broncos ahead of this season and has been a regular, playing on the wing, at centre and, since an injury to Olly Ashall-Bott, at fullback.
The try he scored against Bradford was his eighth of the season, having also crossed seven days earlier in the win at Hull KR.
Houles said: “There were some good performances out there with Luke Polselli doing well again at fullback to add to his exceptional games at centre – he’s a remarkable player.
“I’m very proud of the season so far with the boys stepping up to the plate in Super League, gaining valuable experience at this level.
“The whole staff needs special mention too as they have all contributed to the success.
“We were tested defensively today and conceded lots of penalties but the defence stood up well.
“You need to bear in mind that this was a massive game for both teams. They needed the win to get off the bottom of the table and for us to consolidate ninth place.
“Our home record this season has been tricky (this was only their third win) and playing like we did last week at Hull KR was always going to be difficult against a physical side like Bradford.
“But I thought we showed lots of energy in defence and attack, so I’m very satisfied with the outcome and to pick up two important points.”
