HULL FC have signed forward Joshua Coric from Wynnum Manly Seagulls on a two-year deal from 2027.
The 24-year-old joins Jordan Swann in making the move from the Seagulls to the MKM Stadium.
Able to operate both in the front row and loose forward, Coric has established himself as one of the Queensland Cup side’s most consistent performers across the last two seasons.
He has 40 appearances for the Seagulls, crossing for eight tries in 17 games this campaign, and has caught the eye with both his running metres and tackle efficiency.
Having made his NRL debut for Brisbane Broncos in July – coming off the bench in the 28-16 loss to Cronulla Sharks – Coric says the move to Super League is an exciting next step.
“It’s a massive opportunity for me and one that I’m really looking forward to,” Coric enthused.
“After speaking with the club and (incoming head coach) Steve McNamara, I felt Hull was the right place for me to continue developing, challenge myself, and take my game to the next level both as a player and as a person.
“I’m really looking forward to the challenge of playing in Super League. I know the competition is going to be tough and demanding, but that’s exactly what I’m looking for at this stage in my career.
“I’m excited to test myself against some of the best players in the game and learn from the experience.
“I’m ready for the challenge, really grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get over there and get started.”
Chief executive Richie Myler believes Coric has all the attributes to be successful in Super League.
“He’s young, hungry and coming into what should be the best years of his career,” he explained.
“He plays the game with plenty of energy, carries the ball strongly, and has shown that he can consistently get through a lot of work in the middle.”
Coric is Hull’s sixth signing ahead of the 2027 campaign, alongside Bailey Hodgson, Daly Cherry-Evans, Isaac Liu, Alrix Da Costa, and Swann.
