HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS coach Jim Lenihan was unhappy with a tackle that may have broken the leg of his centre Sam Halsall.
A 36-6 defeat at Hull KR was compounded by the first-half injury, which came following a challenge by Jez Litten and Sauaso Sue.
Lenihan said: “We lost Mathieu Cozza for the whole game (to a head injury) and lost Sam Halsall to a knee-drop which we think may have broken his leg – we will have to scan him.
“I thought the referee had a good game but we were on the wrong end of some tough calls tonight.
“With what we endured in the first half we were really brave, we ended up with one interchange in the second half and the way we hung on at the back end means I am proud.
“We worked hard at 18-0 to get back to 18-6 and we were resolute but just ran out of steam at the end.”
On the turnaround in the Giants’ season – they won five out of six before Hull KR – Lenihan said: “Our performances are better and of course we want to win every week, but how we go about our business shows about the type of people we are.
“We don’t have a lie-down mentality and we fought until the end today. We had a lot of players who played 80 minutes when they shouldn’t have but they showed how brave they are.
“I could not be prouder of our men tonight, not because of the win or the loss but the way we performed.”
