GOLD COAST TITANS kept the pressure on at the top of the table with a club-record 58-0 victory at WESTS TIGERS.

Jaime Chapman’s first-half hat-trick spearheaded the ten-try display, with Indie Bostock and Destiny Mino-Sinapati crossing for doubles.

Further tries from Lauren Brown, Sarina Masaga and Evania Isa’ako, as well as nine Brown goals, set a new club best for points scored in a game.

But the match did not come without cost, with fears that the Titans’ star halfback Teagan Levi has suffered a facial fracture and with Tigers fullback Faith Manera substituted with a suspected ruptured anterior cruciate ligament.

Things were similarly smooth sailing for leaders SYDNEY ROOSTERS, who scored ten tries of their own in a 56-6 rout which put a dent in NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS’ slim finals hopes.

Corban Baxter’s opener inside the first minute set the tone for the visitors, who, despite Aliyah Nasio’s 23rd-minute sinbinning, racked up a 38-0 half-time lead after Jessica Sergis, Tarryn Aiken, Taina Naividi, Keeley Nizza, Millie Elliott and Sariah Paki all found the whitewash.

Taneisha Gray ensured the second half played out in the same vein, though Ashley Marsters did manage a consolation try for the Cowboys, goaled by Rosie Kelly, before Nizza and Sergis went on to complete their doubles. Jocelyn Kelleher kicked seven goals and Aiken one.

Rachael Pearson nailed a field-goal (after two earlier conversions) in the closing seconds to ensure PARRAMATTA EELS squeezed over the line 17-16 at CANBERRA RAIDERS, whose bid for a maiden finals berth will now go down to the last round (they meet Wests Tigers on Friday).

Rory Owen scored a double, either side of Boss Kapua’s first NRLW try, for the Eels, whose defence came good to deny a Canberra side who spent long periods camped in attacking territory.

Sheridan Gallagher, Charlotte Basham and Isabella Waterman all crossed for the Raiders, with Zahara Temara adding two conversions either side of Simaima Taufa’s 57th-minute sin bin.

The Raiders have now been overtaken by NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS, for whom Tayla Predebon starred with a hat-trick in their 56-22 win over CANTERBURY BULLDOGS.

Fane Finau scored a brace, alongside further tries from Sidney Taylor, Sienna Yeo, Mercedez Taulelei-Siala, Charley Lahmert and Tiana Davison, with Kirra Dibb adding eight goals.

Monica Tagoai bagged a quickfire double for the Bulldogs, with Bridget Hoy, Ma’atulei Fotu-Moala and Simina Lokotui also crossing and Tayla Preston landing a conversion, but they could not cope with the Knights’ strike.

Back-to-back wins have sent BRISBANE BRONCOS up to third, the latest being 24-16 over a brave ST GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS, who have now replaced CRONULLA SHARKS at the foot of the table after the Sharks won 40-32 at NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS.

Despite Julia Robinson, Lauren Dam and Georgia Bartlett crossing for the Broncos, their 18-6 half-time lead was less than convincing, with the Dragons paying the price for not taking their chances.

Ella Koster did get over for the hosts, who won the second half after tries from Shenae Ciesolka and Kasey Reh (Maria Paseka closed with two goals to her name), but Tamika Upton’s 47th-minute effort, converted by the final of Jesse Southwell’s perfect four, opened a gap too wide to bridge.

The Sharks ran in seven tries in Auckland to earn just their second win of the season, with missed conversions proving costly in a fourth consecutive defeat which could prove fatal for the Warriors’ finals hopes.

Payton Takimoana’s double, alongside tries from Stacey Waaka, Mele Hufanga and Lavinia Tauhalaliku, had given the hosts a 20-16 half-time lead, with Patricia Maliepo and Gayle Broughton both going on to score in the second half, when Jasmin Huriwai notched two goals.

But converted tries from Kiria-Ratu and Cassie Staples opened a 40-26 lead for the Sharks, for whom Quincy Dodd scored twice alongside tries from Marewakiterangi Samson, Jada Taylor and Stephanie Faulkner. Chantay Kiria-Ratu kicked five goals and Georgia Hannaway one.
