HALIFAX PANTHERS are confident of being stronger – and and off the pitch – next season.
The troubles of 2026 have been well chronicled, with the previous version of the club liquidated in February, leading to the team being mothballed and the departure of a string of players.
After a three-week hiatus, Halifax were relaunched with a new board, led by local businessman Martyn Buchan, but hit by a deduction of twelve points due to those financial issues.
With Kyle Eastmond (pictured) remaining coach, they finished second-bottom, winning eight of 24 league matches over the year, seven out of 22 after the ‘rebirth’.
Now Halifax have launched a ‘2027 – Reloaded and Reignited’ campaign, telling fans: “The objective for 2026 was survival and stability. We have achieved that, but it was only ever the beginning.
“Our attention has already turned firmly towards next season, and work to strengthen on and off the field is underway.
“Kyle Eastmond is committed to leading the team, providing continuity as we build on the foundations already established.
“Recruitment is progressing as we look to build a competitive squad capable of taking Halifax Panthers forward.
“Off the field, we are equally ambitious. A new website will launch soon and we will continue to develop our commercial partnerships and reconnect the club with supporters, businesses and communities across Calderdale and beyond.
“The work of the Panthers Foundation (the club’s non-profit charitable arm) will remain central to what we are trying to achieve.
“We want to be a club who make a genuine difference which the town can be proud to call its own.
“There is still a huge amount of work. We will not pretend rebuilding a club happens overnight, and there will be challenges, but we enter the next chapter from a very different position.”
