Wigan Warriors prop Patrick Mago linked with NRL move

WIGAN WARRIORS prop Patrick Mago is being linked with a move back to the NRL.

The Mole at the Wide World of Sports has claimed that Mago is “homesick” after spending five seasons with the Warriors, and reported that at least two NRL clubs would be interested in signing him.

Mago is the final off-contract senior player at Wigan, but when he signed an extension in 2024 there was an option for a further year in the club’s favour.

The Warriors have won two Super League Grand Finals, three Challenge Cup finals and a World Club Challenge during Mago’s time at the club, and he’s come off the bench in all six of those triumphs.

After being asked about Mago’s future back in August, Wigan boss Matt Peet said: “I’m sure there will be an announcement in the coming weeks but we are not yet at that point.

“We are working to keep him and he is keen to stay. Hopefully we can get that sorted.

“He’s such an important part of the group and has become a bit of a cult hero here.”
