WIGAN WARRIORS have locked out the shortlist for this year’s Woman of Steel award.
One of Jenna Foubister, Eva Hunter – last year’s winner – and Megan Williams will win the prize at the Rugby League Awards on Tuesday, September 29.
All three have contributed strongly to another dominant Wigan season, winning the League Leaders’ Shield with twelve victories from 13 as well as retaining the Challenge Cup.
Halfback Foubister, 19, has scored nine tries and kicked 15 goals in 17 appearances, and was player of the match in the Wembley win over St Helens.
Back-rower Hunter, 21, has touched down 23 times in just 14 games, with her 19 league tries surpassed only by Huddersfield Giants’ Amelia Brown on 26.
Loose-forward Williams, also 21, has played 17 times and scored nine tries.
Wigan host the Women’s Super League Grand Final next Sunday, September 27, at The Brick Community Stadium against the winner of Friday’s semi-final between Leeds Rhinos and York Valkyrie.
