MATT DAVIS has signed a new deal with Leigh Leopards for next season.
The 30-year-old has been with the Leopards since 2023, making 30 appearances that season as Leigh lifted the Challenge Cup.
In total, Davis has registered nine tries in 104 appearances for the Leopards, with 19 of those coming in 2026.
Davis’ rugby league journey is a unique one, beginning with Leicester Storm and the Midlands Academy before London Broncos came calling.
It was in the capital that Davis made his professional debut, and he was a key part of the Broncos side that won the Championship in 2018 and promotion to Super League.
Davis’ performances that year earned him a move to Warrington Wolves, with the forward going on to make 62 appearances there, winning the Challenge Cup in his first season.
“Coming into a contract year, I always knew this is where I wanted to stay,” said the forward.
“I’ve been here for four years and I feel like we’ve done a really good job. I knew I wanted to stay, it was right for myself and my family as well. I’m obviously really happy.”
Head coach Adrian Lam added: “Matty has been a mainstay of the club since the rebrand to Leigh Leopards and has been a big driver in improving the standards here, and he’s someone I look to a lot to help with that.
“In a year with a lot of turnover, it’s a big positive for the club to retain Matty’s services. He’s one of the senior players in the group and brings a lot of experience and quality.”
