THE second semi-final of the 2026 BARLA National Cup will take place this weekend – with a berth in the decider at Castleford Tigers’ OneBore Stadium at the end of next month the prize for either Leigh Miners Rangers or Ince Rose Bridge.
Whoever prevails on Friday (7.30pm) will meet West Hull in the decider, on Saturday, October 31.
Wests beat Featherstone Lions at the penultimate stage, on August 15, the Leigh v Ince match fell victim to an unfit pitch that day.
Meanwhile, the outstanding semi-final in the inaugural 1973 Cup, between Blackbrook and Hunslet ARLFC, will be played on Saturday. The teams are trying again after the game in St Helens was called off last month because of a rock-hard ground. The winners will meet Fryston Warriors – who had a walkover over Distington – in the first match of a ‘double-header’, with the National Cup Final, at Castleford.
The 1973 Cup is contested by losing teams in the opening round of the National Cup.
