THE 2026 Super League Grand Final ranks fourth in the highest attendances recorded from the showpiece event since its inauguration as the title decider in 1998.
Wakefield Trinity overcame Warrington Wolves 23-10 with a superb display that etched head coach Daryl Powell and his players into folklore.
Coming from fourth, Trinity had to beat Leigh Leopards and Wigan Warriors on their route to the Grand Final, and they swept aside both teams in a comprehensive fashion.
Old Trafford saw Wakefield do much of the same on Saturday night as 71,728 spectators flocked to Manchester.
That was announced as a sell-out crowd, with the number of tickets available a little under its current stated 74,158 capacity for operational reasons,
