TOULOUSE OLYMPIQUE chief executive Cedric Garcia has expressed his delight at the French club increasing their grading score.
The club gradings were released on Thursday, and Toulouse’s score increased from 13.28 to 13.44, keeping them in 13th place and ensuring they remain in Super League.
After such an impressive season, finishing eighth in their first top-flight campaign since 2022, head coach Sylvain Houles had threatened to quit had Toulouse been relegated.
But, behind the scenes Garcia and colleagues have been working hard on trying to elevate Olympique to a position where it would be impossible to relegate them on gradings alone.
Garcia has explained how the increased weighting towards performance and finance this year had affected Toulouse’s score.
He said: “Despite the fact that the 1.5 points from the catchment area was scrapped and dispatched between sport performance and finance, our grade still increased.
“It is a great achievement as it is virtually impossible to recover the full 1.5 points lost from the catchment pillar.
“We have improved in every department and we are really happy. I am proud of the work put in by the whole club.
“For next season, we mainly want to improve on the attendance figures.”
Toulouse’s average attendance in 2026 was 4,870, with their record home crowd being 7,360 against Hull FC in Round 26.
