Victor Radley open to Super League move as Sydney Roosters star ‘feels’ English

VICTOR RADLEY has admitted he is “pumped” to put on an England shirt again in this year’s World Cup.

The tournament begins this week with England’s first fixture coming against Tonga on Saturday morning.

Radley had previously created a furore when he declared himself ‘Aussie through and through’ as he prepared for his State of Origin debut earlier in the year.

However, the Sydney Roosters enforcer is ready to once more prove himself as an Englishman in the next month or so.

“I’m pumped to be playing for England again,” he told Triple M Radio.

“Obviously, this World Cup in Australia, I think the English people will be pumped to come over here and the boys will be excited as heck. I can’t wait.”

When asked if he felt English, he said: “I do, yeah, for sure. When I was making that decision (to commit to the nation of his father), the gut feeling I had, there was obviously some English blood running through me telling me to make that decision.

“My dad has still got his accent. He works with English and Irish people as a builder and I grew up on the building site and did about four years before I started playing in the NRL.”

Radley was also asked about potentially making the move to Super League in the future, saying: “I don’t think it is (going to happen) yet but it’s something that I’ve wanted to do since I was young.

“And to be honest, it (heading to England) wasn’t about playing in Super League. I was keen to go and do a one-year working visa as a carpenter, so I was excited to go see other parts of the world and I still am.”
