JOE STIMSON will ply his trade in a local New South Wales competition following his exit from Castleford Tigers.
The 30-year-old has linked up with hometown club Temora Dragons in the Group 9 Rugby League competition, based around Wagga Wagga.
The Dragons finished as league leaders in 2026, but went on to lose the Grand Final 24-16 to Gundagai Tigers, who had finished two points below them on the ladder.
Stimson, meanwhile, registered 39 appearances in an 18-month stint with the Tigers, arriving at the OneBore Stadium midway through the 2025 campaign.
The versatile forward – who can play at prop, back-row and loose-forward, had been linked with a move to Leigh Leopards, but that never came to fruition.
As such, Stimson has returned home to his roots.
Stimson made his NRL debut with Melbourne Storm back in 2018 and went on to have spells with Canterbury Bulldogs and Gold Coast Titans before joining Castleford.
