ISABEL ROWE admits she’s living the dream at the World Cup in Australia after playing a key role in England’s 70-6 victory over Wales.
The 19-year-old was on hand with two tries and an individual points tally of 26 in the emphatic win at Perth’s HBF Park.
Rowe’s Wigan Warriors teammate Anna Davies bagged a hat-trick in the opener, while Ameilia Brown and Connie Boyd were also at the double, with Georgia Wilson, Hollie-Mae Dodd and Jasmin Strange also on the scoresheet as well.
Reflecting on the game, the scrum-half said: “All of the girls did an amazing job and showed a lot of toughness – it made my job a lot easier.
“We’ve got an amazing set of girls, and we’re all getting on really well. It’s been a dream – I’m playing with girls I’ve grown up with, and girls I’ve grown up watching.
“It’s a massive dream come true, and I can’t wait to keep on going.
“We’re looking forward to next week (against Australia). I’ve watched the competition for years now, and have looked up to those players. It’ll be a tough game, but we’re looking forward to it. Everything’s a learning experience, and we’ll go forward.”
Despite suffering defeat in their World Cup debut, Wales skipper Bethan Dainton said that the squad still feels a part of history, with Paige Travis scoring for the Dragons in the first half.
“No one can take that away from us regardless of the score,” she said.
“We’ve made history. We deserve to be here on this stage, and we looked really good in parts. I couldn’t be any more proud of the girls.”
