Max Jowitt’s Wakefield Trinity end ‘what dreams are made of’

MAX JOWITT believes Wakefield Trinity’s Grand Final win over Warrington Wolves was what dreams are made of.

The 29-year-old registered 194 appearances for Trinity after debuting back in 2014.

In that time, he scored 80 tries and kicked 390 goals, but he will be a York Knights player in 2027 after signing a two-year deal with Mark Applegarth’s side.

But the fullback brought the curtain down on his Wakefield career in the best way possible – winning the Super League Grand Final against Warrington.

Trinity were well worth their 23-10 victory at Old Trafford, with Jowitt playing a major role in Wakefield’s rise to the top after forcing his way back into Powell’s thinking in the latter half of 2026.

And Jowitt believes that it was the best way to bow out after having been through thick and thin for the West Yorkshire club.

“For that to be my last game for Wakefield, it’s one I’ll never forget and I’m so happy for the fans,” Jowitt said.

“I just wanted to give it everything I’ve got, knowing it will be my last year at Wakefield. I love this group of lads, I love the coaching staff, I love the club – it’s a massive part of my life and it will always be a massive part of my life wherever I play my rugby.”

Jowitt added: “It’s what dreams are made of. If you’d told me at the start of the year we’d even be playing in the Grand Final I’d have snapped your hand off, let alone winning it.

“It’s an unbelievable story, to be a part of the worst time at the club and now the best time in the space of three years. It sounds ridiculous, but I can’t get over it. What a way to bow out.”
