Awards cap impressive year for Doncaster’s Muizz Mustapha

DONCASTER prop or loose-forward Muizz Mustapha carried off an awards treble at the end of an impressive first season since joining from Castleford.

The 26-year-old Leeds product, whose 29 appearances culminated in a front-row grand-final outing away to London Broncos, was named forward, player’s player and outright player of the year.

Mustapha, born in Nigeria and raised in Leeds, cut short his Castleford contract to pen a two-year Dons deal twelve months ago.

Retiring halfback Connor Robinson was named back of the year and gained a special recognition award after his well-chronicled scoring exploits, which included setting a new known Rugby League first-class record of 58 successive kicks from the tee.

Fullback Tom Holmes was named supporters’ player of the year and backrower Jacob Jones the club’s man of steel.
