Georgia Roche benched as England ring changes for Australia test

ENGLAND have dropped Georgia Roche to the bench for Saturday’s clash with world champions Australia in Perth.

The Newcastle Knights halfback started the World Cup opener against Wales, which England won 70-6, alongside Isabel Rowe, then moved to hooker in the second half for Jenna Foubister to come on.

Coach Stuart Barrow has opted to field Wigan Warriors teammates Foubister and Rowe together from the start against the Jillaroos, with Roche among the interchanges.

Georgia Wilson and Mary Coleman have also been taken out of the side, with Molly Jones and Liv Wood in their places at centre and prop respectively.

Hope Millard, who made her England debut against Wales, has been replaced on the bench by Lucie Sams.

Australia, who beat England 90-4 when the sides most recently met in Las Vegas at the beginning of last year, have also reshuffled their side.

Makenzie Weale and Sariah Paki are set to make their international debuts off the bench while Jessica Sergis and Kezie Apps have been rested, with Abbi Church and Tiana Penitani brought into the starting line-up.
