LONDON BRONCOS are keeping hold of Ben Hursey-Hord, with the versatile forward signing a two-year contract extension.
The Kent-born former Leeds Rhinos player who had previously been in the old Broncos development system returned south from Halifax Panthers ahead of the 2025 campaign, when the capital club were rebuilding in the wake of relegation from Super League.
He featured 19 times that season as the Broncos, then with minimal financial backing, managed to stay afloat and earn tenth-place finish.
His performances earned him a new deal for this year, when fuelled by fresh investment following the takeover by ambitious Australian pair Darren Locker and Grant Wechsel, top-flight aspirants London romped to Grand Final success.
While he missed out on the play-offs, Hursey-Hord, who will turn 24 on November 19, made 23 appearances, notching ten tries.
“I’m really happy to be re-signing. This club feels like home and I’ve loved my time here,” said the Invicta Panthers product from Maidstone, who linked up with Leeds after moving to the Yorkshire city as a student and played for the Reserves before his switch to Halifax, where he figured ten times.
“It was an easy decision to stay, and I can’t wait to get stuck in again in front of the Broncos fans and continue working with this group.”
Demetriou added: “Hursey is a great example of what we want to build at this club.
“He’s a local lad who came through our pathway and has now established himself in the first team.
“His consistency and work ethic have been important to our success, and we’re excited to see him continue to develop over the next two seasons.”
Hursey-Hord’s contract extension follows that to 2027 of fellow forward Marcus Stock.
