Is there another Joe Burgess, Liam Sutcliffe or Adam Swift waiting to emerge from the Academy ranks this season?
For a second year running, and thanks to the superb co-operation from the staff in the youth departments at all the clubs, Rugby League World brings you the squad lists for the clubs taking part in this season’s under-19s Academy Championship.
A player can participate in the under-19s competition for three seasons, so this year we have broken down the squads to show first year academy players (under-17s), second year (under-18s) and those in the final year (under-19s).
Rugby League World wishes all players and coaches an enjoyable season and encourages all supporters to follow the future stars of the game by attending matches and supporting tomorrow’s superstars.
LOOK OUT FOR…
Leeds Rhinos scrum half Jordan Lilley was an instrumental figure for his side during 2014, and it was easy to forget that those impressive performances were in his first year as an Academy player.
LOOK OUT FOR…
St Helens centre Jake Spedding was an imposing presence as Saints almost reached the 2014 under-19s Grand Final. They have a young squad for the 2015 competition but Spedding looks a likely key figure.
LOOK OUT FOR…
Warrington Wolves second row forward Sam Wilde was very impressive during the 2014 campaign, earning a call up to the England Academy squad. A workaholic second row forward.
LOOK OUT FOR…
Wigan centre Oliver Gildart is now in his final year in the Academy and is not without a chance of breaking into the Warriors first team this year. Sure to torment defences at under-19s level.
