Ah Van handed five match ban

Widnes winger Patrick Ah Van will miss the next five games after being charged for the tackle that dislocated Ashley Gibson’s shoulder.

Ah Van was sin binned by referee Joe Cobb following the incident, but he is now set to miss a lengthy spell of the season following the result of the charge.

A Grade E dangerous throw normally commands a 4-8 game suspension.

Meanwhile, Wakefield hooker Scott Moore has been given a two match ban for a Grade B high tackle in the same match while Salford hooker Logan Tomkins will miss one match after the disciplinary panel downgraded his Grade C dangerous contact to Grade B.
