Bradford Bulls to name new coach this week?

It’s the news all Bradford Bulls fans have been waiting for – and their chairman has hinted that the club’s new coach could be revealed this week.

Marc Green posted on social media on Wednesday that he expects an announcement to be made regarding James Lowes’ replacement in the next 72 to 96 hours – which would mean before the end of this week.

Speculation is running rife over the next man to take the Odsal hotseat, with a somewhat surprise name – of sorts – being mentioned frequently.

Brian Smith is well known to Bradford fans for both his time in charge of the club and as the man who consigned them to another year in the Championship in 2016 following last year’s Million Pound Game. However, it is his son, Rohan, who is understood to be one of the leading contenders for the role.

TotalRL understands that he is a contender, and the current Gold Coast assistant is one of a number of potential coaches in the running.
