Brett Ferres looking forward to Huddersfield reunion

Leeds Rhinos forward Brett Ferres has insisted that he’s looking forward to his reunion with former club Huddersfield Giants this weekend.

The two West Yorkshire rivals meet at Headingley in front of the Sky cameras on Friday, with both the Rhinos and the Giants looking for their first victory – and points – of 2016.

And Ferres insists that whilst it was a tumultuous exit from Huddersfield which sparked his move to Leeds, the circumstances of both teams being at the foot of the table makes it a game he’s eagerly anticipating.

“I’m looking forward to it, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t,” Ferres told the Huddersfield Examiner.

“I obviously left the Giants under different circumstances, but this week is all about getting that first win above all else.

“The fact we’re both looking to get off the mark makes this is a really significant game.

“And I know we’re going to have to be at our best, because the Giants will be fired-up for this one, even though they have got so many injuries at the moment.”
