Centurions staying calm

Leigh Centurions coach Neil Jukes does not expect any more imminent arrivals having signed Liam Hood and recalled Ben Reynolds from his loan period at Dewsbury.

The pair have significantly bolstered the club’s playmaking options, which were affected by a string of injuries and unavailabilities.

With centres Willie Tonga, Greg Worthington and Tom Armstrong, plus backrower Andrew Dixon, all closing in on returns, Jukes will see his options increase in the coming weeks.

Fullback Lee Smith has suffered a torn bicep, but the club hopes it isn’t serious, while awaiting scan results over the weekend.

Jukes also reported that hooker Bob Beswick is to have a second opinion on his ankle complaint, and that halfback Reynolds has been chomping at the bit since returning from the Rams.
