Bradford winger James Clare is determined to put one over the club he grew up hating this weekend.
Castleford-born Clare has a not-so fond relationship with Featherstone due to the rivalry between Rovers and his hometown club.
Having also played for the Tigers, Bradford’s opening fixture against Rovers is one of special significance for the 24-year-old.
“Being a Cas lad it’s a great rivalry and there’s nothing more you want to do than beat the Flatcappers,” he said.
“It will be an interesting game and we’ll all be up for it. Jimmy will have us fired up, we don’t know the 17 yet and he makes it very well known to us that we’re all fighting for our spot every week.”
With the season about to start, almost everyone is expecting the Bulls to ease their way into the Qualifiers. However, Clare insists the club isn’t getting carried away.
“The Middle Eights is the main part but we’ve not looked too far ahead. We just want to scratch those wins off. Who knows, we could go unbeaten throughout the entire season, that would be a great way to go into the season.”
