Sunday’s BARLA Tri-Series County Championship games between Cumbria and Yorkshire have been postponed.
Yorkshire County bosses were informed last night by their Cumbrian counterparts that the fixtures, at Open Age and Under 19s levels, are not going ahead because the pitch at Egremont Rangers is unfit – and that other grounds in the area have similarly been hit by sustained rains this week.
The Tykes, who had arranged overnight accommodation for the Saturday to aid preparation, have therefore cancelled their hotel booking.
Cumbrian officials hope, it is understood, to re-arrange the games for Sunday 22 November.
