Forster backs Barrow depth

Barrow Raiders forward Carl Forster believes clever recruitment from coach Paul Crarey in the off-season will prove to be the club’s biggest strength this season.
The Cumbrian club is one of the favourites to bounce straight back into the Championship this year, and Forster is confident his new side can live up to that expectation.
“Our biggest strength is our squad size,” Forster told the latest issue of Rugby League World Magazine.
“The club only just got relegated last year with a fairly thin squad, but we have kept the majority of the team and added the likes of myself and Lee Jewitt, who add a bit more experience in the middle. We have also signed lots of amateur players and they’ve made the step up really well.
“That squad depth means even if we are missing one or two each week, we have quality able to come in to fill those gaps.
“Quite a lot of the Barrow lads that won promotion in 2017 are still here, and I did it last year, so all that does get brought up in conversation.
“That knowledge is definitely going a good thing for us this year.”
