Protests at Eagles v Hunslet game
Griff replied to mozzauk's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
She didn't do her job though, did she? Her job was to confirm or dispute that Matty Marsh was fit. She said she wanted to examine him first. She made no effort to do that. She's not a doctor. She was a doctor equivalent, a status seemingly quietly dropped by the RFL. There'll be a few out of work doctor equivalents who'll be disputing your call for high praise. -

You'd have to ask Sports Resolution but, if you win your case and don't get your costs, it's always because of how you've conducted yourself. I would imagine that the skewed rules for the original tribunal would be a big part of it but only SR can say. -

Yet 4000+ folk turned up at the game. -
And do Blackpool want to host it now ?
-
How many of those 8 or 9 thousand came just because of the women's final? I'd guess nearer zero than 1000.

Fathers' Day ? You mean the ideal day to take your father to a game, rather than keep him away from it ? -
Worked well ? Remind me how many Silk Cut Plate competitons there actually were.

Defending the last nine sets eventually took a toll. -
No. Just no.

Here's me thinking we pay players to manipulate play.

Sounds like good play by Saints. Beyond that, I wouldn't like to comment as I haven't seen the incident.

Salford financial issues(again…)
Griff replied to LeytherRob's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Not really. They're looking to have a say in how the club's run. Whether that vote comes through shares or a membership is pure semantics. But, if you think it's significantly different, that's fine. We can disagree. -
Cricket will blow your mind.

Shocking Scenes at an u14s Match

I thought the players reacted quite well. The only unacceptable on-field behaviour came from the spectators when they encroached onto the field. -
Once a game? Sounds like it didn't cut out dissent then.

I agree. It's a key hooker skill. I'm not sure what opponents of arm waving have got against the concept of getting on with the game.

Could do. Sadly, I'm not interested enough to look through zillions of Google pages. But what's not affected is my view that there are better ways to support your club than be a small shareholder. -

I don't remember any prospectus being issued. Was there one? -

That's what happens with "fan owned" clubs. Fans tend to have <1% of the share capital. Yes you have a right to go to meetings and complain about the standard of the pies but what sort of influence did you expect to have ? From the club's point of view, they get a one-off financial boost but then they have to circulate all the shareholders with the accounts, hold assorted meetings and they have this obligation forever (or, at least) until the club goes bust and they start again with a new company). Having said that, there are some clubs which don't fulfil their legal obligations, seemingly without consequences. I've said this before but you'd be better spending your money on a match sponsorship. Have a good day out at a match. Forget being a small shareholder. -

Controversial - having two points 2. But, looking at the second point 2, I don't really understand where this working capital comes from. Are you saying that £2m could be raised from the sale of 3m shares (they need to be sold at at least face value) or are you implying that a boatload of shares could be sold to Joe Public which would leave any rich bloke buyer a bit of a mountain to climb to take overall control? If not, what are you saying ?
