The scam ones will be familiar to anyone who has seen them on local newspaper sites. They are not always linked to browser history. -

There is bog all else going on. I could have responded to Martyn's little "MY SENSE OF HUMOUR IS NO LAUGHING MATTER" post to really get things going but, nah, life's too short for that kind of nonsense. I'm not offended. I think it's not particularly smart and, genuinely, an obvious dig - as in, I don't know why you'd even put it out like that if wasn't a dig. But, as ever, if it works for Leigh then that's the important bit.

Huddersfield Town becoming a Championship/Premiership team after a long time lower down have anything to do with it?

There aren't any around here for it to make a difference but since becoming aware of the way the workers, in particular, are treated, I've not gone into a Sam Smith's pub. Shame because I do like the Old Brewery Bitter.

Film Thread (What have you been watching?)
gingerjon replied to John Drake's topic in Any Other Business / Any Other Sports
Conclave Had to kill about six hours in Letchworth the other day and, across the road from where Tiny Ginger was, just by the world's oldest roundabout, is a fantastic cinema called the Broadway. Anyway, sat in a very luxurious seat for a very reasonable price and watched this very good film. It is worth seeing in the cinema if you can because it is one where the sound and feel of the piece is as important as the look, dialogue and plot. Acting is off the chart good from everyone involved. It possibly doesn't need the final, final, final twist but it's in the book so why not. -
The words “Single game tickets will be on sale from …” is all you need.

Take the negative and make it positive. What could be on club websites (and other shop windows) to make them more welcoming and more likely to convert casual interest into supporters/attenders?

It's an interesting one and unknowable. I guess 'England' would have remained vulnerable for longer and no one can easily say who would have then taken which parts when. As an aside, the 1066 battlefield is obviously nearby (in Battle not Hastings) and I went there with a Canadian friend a few years back who had absolutely no idea what the date 1066 meant or why the Battle of Hastings was significant. No judgement there - just interesting which bits of history stick around the world and which don't.

Agreed. There are a few simple things all clubs can do to make things more friendly. Putting up when tickets will go on sale is a quick win. Just one extra line per game on the Match Centre page.

Are you on a mobile? On a laptop, tickets have their own clear section. The screengrab is too large to post though.
