I did O Level physics and have the commonsense to know that if a person was having to undergo the impact of 15-20 fifty mph car crashes 25-30 times per season then the game would be going through players faster than they could replace them. What's your opinion or are you one of these people who would stick his hand into the fire if an "expert" told him it was the right thing to do?
-
This is complete twaddle. The fastest human being on the planet can only manage to attain about 23 mph when running flat out so even if you had two Usain Bolts colliding at full pelt, the maximum impact velocity would be 46mph at the most. Add to this the fact that most RL players do not weigh as much as cars then Baron's conclusions cannot be based upon scientific facts. Not sure how multiple-man tackles will factor in to all this though??

Will Leeds Finish 6th?

1) Injuries. 2) Suspensions. I, for one, am not bothered about the result, Wigan can put the under 20's out for me - y'know like they did at that Carnegie Nines thingy the other night, oh, er, wait a minute, perhaps I'd better shut up. -
Will Leeds Finish 6th?

Well they're boring aren't they - y'know like it got boring with Wigan - winning all those Grand Finals, it's about time someone else got a look in. -
Leeds looked knackered at the end of today's final and I think that their whole season has been geared to winning the cup at the expense of everything else. As the injuries to key players mount up, next week's trip to Hull is beginning to look like a bridge too far for Hetherington's battered troops. A victory for Hull and a win for Huddy in France and Leeds finish 6th, I reckon. Fingers crossed for Huddy and Hull. What does anybody else reckon??

I was talking to someone yesterday about this and how long it would take for Wigan to be blamed for all Quins' ills - even sooner than I thought by the sound of things - like they say there's many-a-true word been spoken in jest. -

Another club in the mire with money - good to see that the salary cap is still doing the job for which it was intended. -
St Helens- time for the RFL to act.

Saints are abviously trying to emulate the triple Superleague Champions who have got away with nonsense like this for season after season without punishment. Meanwhile, the most disciplined and respectful side in the league continues to get the shaft from the RFL and its officials. -
I think it's you that's hooked mate.

I was always on your mind, always on your mind.......

No, that is not true. Wigan were not even the first club to go full-time pro - that honour fell to Leeds.

I miss Central Park and Wilderspool and Thrum Hall and the old Naughton Park and The Watersheddings and I will miss Knowlesly Road too. Crappy things can be great in their own way and these new grounds definitely lack the atmosphere of the old places no matter how bad they were.

It is you that needs glasses, either that or the removal of that chip on your shoulder. I never said, or even thought that you were a Widnes fan but like many in here when a Wigan fan points to facts in order to back up a point of view he is automatically characterised as being in some way myopic. You said that it could be argued that the Widnes side that were World Club Champions in 1989 were the most skillful to ever grace these shores, I pointed to the evidence of the following six seasons to suggest that you may be wrong. Had Leeds or Saints or anyone else done the same in those years then the evidence would still stand up. Personally I think the 1994 & 2000 Australians plus the 1992 Wigan side made the 1989 Widnes vintage look pedestrian.

Is the Challenge Cup worth it?
Bitofaboogie replied to Kol's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
The problem isn't the final, which is still a great occasion and a win is still worth a great deal to clubs, players and speccies alike. The problem is the rest of the competition which has definitely lost a great deal in terms of drama and romance. Not sure what can be done about it though - it's just a sign of the times, when people turn out and spend money they expect a big occsasion and the cup rounds just don't fit the bill anymore. -
Alternatively, it could be argued that you are talking nonsense. Had that Widnes side done the double for the following six seasons then you may have been right but seeing as they didn't, actually you are quite wrong.

Huddy to win this one - Bentham on the whistle so no chance for our lads. Won't bother me too much if we lose this and the one at HKR, providing it helps both these sides to finish above Leeds and we pick up at least a point against Bradford in the final game. -

Perfectly good Saints try disallowed. Saints penalised for tackling. How could anyone think that the RFL and its officials might just favour a Leeds victory? -

Leeds will win this one, no problem. After all, they've just had to take their medicine from the RFL for the first time in ages and then they've managed to get Hetherington's tea ##### on the whistle again. They'll get everything going in this game. Sorry Saints but it is game over for you. -
