I don't think it would be locked as I thought the RFL also had a vote. I suppose this allows them to come out in the press and say the clubs have voted in favour of the changes.

Interesting and another clue that this system is actually about creating an 8 club SL.

I see it as the complete opposite this doesn't give 4/5 clubs the chance of bringing back glory days. Instead it allows 4/5 current SL clubs to seriously tone down their spend but still have a very good chance of retaining their TV money.

I'm not sure there is a system that could stop that.

Can someone clear this up for me. When teams split into their 8s are they then not just finishing their league season off. After this has been completed I thought the top three or four teams then go into a play off.

In that system you could have a team winning the grand final and getting relegated in the same season.

No it isn't if everything is equal its the RFL that gets to decide

As I say you couldn't be certain on the knock on because he could hit the ball into Shaul but watch the video again the point at which oloughlin picks the ball up is closer to the Wigan line than where charnley touches it.Also to add its completely irrelevant where charnley ends up all that matters is where he touched the ball. If the ball goes forward from that point (towards the hull line) oloughlin offside. If as I think it does the ball goes backwards (towards the Wigan line) then he's onside.

That's off a kick but a kick will be going forward so if your in front you need the kicker to play you onside. This ball was touched so if the point where oloughlin picks the ball up is behind where charnley touches its ok. You can't be offside picking a ball up that goes backwards.

It's impossible to say whether its a knock on or not as he could of hit the ball into Shaul. I'm certain oloughlin isn't offside though as the ball from the initial contact goes back towards the Wigan line so even if oloughlin comes from an offside position he has to put himself onside to pick the ball up

Why not award points in the reverse of finishing positions after 23 rds then. So 8 place gets 1 point 7th - 2,6th - 3 and so on. That way teams are rewarded for their performance in the earlier rounds but all the teams could still make or drop out of the play-offs.
