  1. Not only will they most likely have a points advantage over the other teams. 5 th place will be in a mini league were they will only play teams below them if they finish bottom they'll deserve to go down.
  2. I think it will work but only in creating an 8 team SL.
  3. Within a framework decided by the clubs and various leagues.
  4. I think he coaches junior teams but not sure what badges would be required for that level. Got a feeling he did them when he was out injured recently.
  5. No championship clubs had a choice that's why some clubs aren't DR to a SL team. No sport is run by a governing body with out agreement from its members how would that work. That's why the league structure is suggested by the RFL and then voted on by the clubs or would you like the RFL to say this is the structure your going to play in get on with it.
  6. Didn't the RFL want to keep the under 23s I think that was their recommendation. The clubs voted against it and choose the DR system instead. Now that its in the best thing to do is look at it at the end of the season so I'm not sure what the RFL has done wrong here.
  7. I'm starting to see where the RFL is going with this its not about enlarging SL it will effectively reduce SL to eight teams. Behind that though there will be another 8 teams who can step in if one of the 8 over stretch themselves and go bust.
  8. Even when there were 12 teams in the league they still had 14 home games because of repeat fixtures.
  9. Think this is another situation were the RFL can't win. If this game was staged in Doncaster or the midlands we would be lucky to get 3-4000 fans turning up and the RFL would be getting stick over that. As it is even playing it in Leigh I'd be surprised if there's more than 7-8000. But that should be enough to break even and it won't look awful on TV.
  10. I'm not sure the RFL would have the power to make that decision. Is it not set in stone that CC semis are neutral venue.
  11. From what I've seen most reasonable posters havent said anything like that. They have been saying that Fev had done enough to gain themselves a licence. It would of been well earned and would of given them three years security to try to establish themselves in SL. Now as someone else has pointed out the best the can hope for is to win promotion in 2016 or 17. I fear by then all their momentum will have stopped
  12. You mean the man who was behind the dual reg system. We can't go wrong then.
  13. I agree we shouldn't be playing the exiles we should be doing a probables v possibles match. It will only get worse as the quality of imports drops with the NRL salary cap going up. That said we shouldnt be playing France mid season either as I dont think they want the game and I'm sure Catalans don't. It's too much strain on their squad in the middle of the season.
  14. I think the points do carry over for the top and bottom 8.
  15. Less of a pop at RL and more of a statement on how far Wigan athletic have come. He just said that the latics are now drawing bigger crowds than Wigan RL.
  16. Ten games will be much longer than two months. It's also worth pointing out its ten league games so friendlies and internationals won't count.
  17. Reading manager now been sack
  18. Viewing figures are always higher on Sky Sports 1 simply because more people have that channel.People will have SS1 without SS2 but not many if any will have SS2 and not have SS1.Viewing figures will probably go from 5/600,000 to 300,000 just because of the switch.
  19. I've always thought silver point would be better suited to RL than golden point. Then teams can go for the drop goal but the chance is there for the other side to win it with a try.
  20. Nothing to do with Cunningham or Saints I think the St Helens cup finals there on Tuesday
  21. It depends whether clubs finishing prize money is decided by league position or when you exit the play offs
  22. Saints will pick hudds but IMO they would pick Leeds before they pick Wigan. As with the players they have missing next week could be a game too far for Leeds.
  23. Bringing in a one nation rule would help the smaller nations in the long run.At first you may get a couple of players thinking twice about playing for a developing team but once they've been overlooked by the big three eventually they will play for other countries. The benifits being that if they are a late developer themselves these smaller countries could end up with a genuine world class player on their hands with no danger of the big three nicking the player back off them.
