  1. To be fair Widnes were missing quite a few esp half backs and although we are in League One, pretty much the whole squad has Championship experience and with home advantage and 6 wins on the trot this season I thought we would lose narrowly. Good job we rested Dale Ferguson.
  2. 500 games, 1000 goals and definitely not hiding as a couple of hits on Adam Lawton will testify. Still a beast on defence.
  3. Back to the league and a short turnaround to a big game. Hopefully the players recover enough as this could go either way.
  4. Think Widnes were lucky not to have a yellow card or possibly a red for the dangerous tackle on Sam Day. https://youtu.be/Pp9aNOXWZig
  5. Widnes were short of half backs and others but a great win for Dewsbury Rams
  6. Great performance based on some excellent goal line defence. Widnes were missing their half backs so that made a big difference, but real resilience from the Rams. And top marks to Jimmy Beckett for his run and offload for the match winning try.
  7. Good to see Widnes short of half backs. It will be interesting to see how Callum Turner and Paul Sykes work against a Championship defence. Think it's essential we get a good start. Their form in March has been a bit up and down, thrash Halifax and then get thrashed by Sheffield. Think Widnes will win, but hope we put on a good performance.
  8. Was that the David Smith who went on to play for Leeds and Wakefield Trinity?
  9. Saw this on Facebook. Never knew about this, few years before I started supporting Dewsbury
  10. Didn't go but sounds an impressive win
  11. Two close games last year but we did the double. Reckon this will be close again but hoping for another Rams win. Workington 18 Rams 24
  12. Not a criticism but there's a big gap between Championship and League One.
  13. Absolutely picked on merit and I doubt anyone plays at Dewsbury for the money. Born in Dewsbury and supported the team as he grew up.
  14. Went past 500 appearances last season, kicked his 1,000 goal last week, plays 80 minutes, tough defender, maybe lost a bit of his pace but still a good pro at 41.
  15. Should have included Connor Davies as well, was strong on attack and defence for 80 minutes.
  16. Dewsbury through fairly comfortably in the end, though we somehow managed to concede a try when Rochdale were down to 11 players! Liam Finn rested a few including Dale Ferguson and Paul Sykes, so he must have been sweating a bit at 26-18.
  17. Well not too far off with 30-12. How we managed to concede when they were down to 11 not sure. But some great performances and LF judged it well to leave out Ferguson and Sykes. Didn't realise Brad Graham had got a hat trick. Thought Day, Butterworth, Beckett, Greensmith, Graham stood out and Bailey O'Connor looks like he could be very useful.
  18. According to Total RL Forum and BBC. Only just spotted that
  19. I'll go Dewsbury 24 Rochdale 12 based on nothing really
  20. This all assumes that Myler was unaffected by the foul from Hurrell. So it would have been better if he leapt to his feet and Hurrell got away with it?
  21. We need to put a good performance in and especially show more ideas and composure near the opponent's line. Ashton had a far superior kicking game. Hoping we will win, but it will need an improved performance.
