  1. I heart Vimto. Off the plane into Manchester for a wedding - needed some stuff. Went to Selfridges in the Trafford Centre and saw a Vimto stall. I spent around 40 GBP with a view to taking it home... it didnt last long On another note, its Chinese New Year so everyone is buying each other food - my boss just brought some pasties in that were absolutely sensational. I've had 4. Absolutely sensational.
  2. Watching Newsroom again. Tempted to then re-visit The West Wing. Again. Also, watching The IT crowd for the 1st time - decent, but not as funny as everyone said. Wife loves it.
  3. Loud thunder and simultaneous lightening every 10 seconds or so for about 45 minutes now. It's terrifying when you're next to window 27 floors up. There's no rain.
  4. Weather is getting better - an absolute scorcher at the golf on Saturday. Inevitable storms in the afternoon will soon go and it'll be back to a full day of awesomeness! Wooooo
  5. Any good food programmes recently? Hairy Bikers, Stein, River Cottage - that sort of jazz. I no longer subscribe to a TV service so download all material; happy with this arrangement, but with living away as well, i have absolutely no idea what's on. Ta
  6. Me Mam's recipe an all. Tinned Corned Beef of course. She used Oxtail Soup i think. Fresh corned beef ash with Yorkshires 1 day old corned beef ash with mash potato. 2 day old corned beef ash goes in a toastie.
  7. I've never bought anything from a Starbucks. I don't even think i've been in one.
  8. They could always show their discontent by investing more 'ethically' 8m GBP a year for my big lad. 8m GBP! Saw him once in a corridor. ###### shoes.
  9. Woof. Really? Is it a rant though? Shareholders prerogative and all that?
  10. Lightening storm at 10am, right outside my 27th floor office window. That was nice.
  11. Moving house at the end of Feb and plan on buying a BBQ and using it 4/5 times a week. Exciting times.
  12. Do beasties not live in the river? On my cycle to work, i see mega lizards now and again mincing in and out of the marina, scares me senseless!
  13. A bit nippy recently, 30 degrees tops and cloudy. Been rubbish weather recently. Hoping for a sunny weekend by the pool for new years. Having worked through Christmas, i deserve it
  14. Half them, wok them with chilli, garlic, ginger and a spash of soy & lime.. Chuck in some squid and beansprouts at the end. Had that for me tea t'other day.
  15. Singapore. 32 degrees again today. Probably a storm later. Again.
  16. 32 degrees and thunder here. Same every day. I'd love some proper cold; wearing a jacket would do.
  17. Singtel. F*&cking Singtel. To cancel my TV subscription (i only subscribed to watch Setanta which they replaced with a channel dedicated to people playing Playstation) i have to take my set up box and remote to a dedicated store... of which there are only 3. It'll be a 30 min cab, a 4 hour queue and i'll end up shouting at someone. Sunday is ruined
  18. 1st November at work. 33 degrees and massive chuffing trees and lihhts everywhere at 9am Christmas song on radio this morning, taxi driver was apoplectic which was funny
  19. Katong laksa tonight. Always a favourite. Katong laksa = A big steaming bowl of noodles, fish and spice with a cold bottle of Tiger.
  20. Sirocco lounge - meh. Pretentious. Average Gaggan - Wonderful food experience. Sat at the chef's table so had Gaggan with us for the evening. A lot of misdirection with plating, smells etc. A few highlights were a chocolate ball filled with chilli and curry, a prawn stuffed with sorbet that tasted like Tom Yum, Goat Brains. Every course seemed to have a place, it was refreshing or lingered on your palette for ages. Amazing - including the price!! Nahm - Always a winner. Proper spicy or refreshing as good Thai food should be. Washed down with brilliant cocktails. Great service Street food - Less and less of it kicking about. The government have really cracked down which is a shame
  21. Bangkok in a few hours. Sirocco Sky Lounge tonight at the hotel (some sky bar jazzy nonsense) Gaggan tomorrow Nahm for Sunday dinner Suspect Gaggan will be amazing, but could be surpassed by street food and beer which is always a winner
  22. People who have window seats in the office and have the blinds down all day. Shoot them all. All of them. I sit in the corner of our office on the 27th floor, if the blinds are down i have a proper lovely view; Singapore cricket club, the Fullerton, Raffles in the background to my left, the water with little boats fannying about and then MBS to my right. The clowns in front of me pull ALL of the blinds fully down so all i can see is a half deflated balloon in front of some blinds. And.... the stupid clock in front of me.. New York time is fast by 8 minutes; Mumbai 12; London slow by 7 and Tokyo just flashes. Fix it!!!!!
  23. Difficult to get good mince here, but the ready made angus burgers are wonderful. $3.50 for 1 pattie is good value too. Cooking on a lotus grill at the moment, want a weber if i move to a bigger balcony next year.
  24. BBQ sizzling away, is there a better smell than red onion and burgers?
