  1. Exactly mate we haven't been disapointed so far and they have helped us finish top of the pile for the 1st time in 17 years. The last three years have seen huge steps in every department and who knows what the next three years will serve up. Widnes maybe front runners for the next franchise but hell we aren't half going some to get recognised ourselves.
  2. We were all complaining that we have not been given much media coverage for our success and now the club has cleverly grabbed a marketing opportunity to give us maximum exposure in the media people moan more. At the end of the day if this venture gets us just 50 extra fans per game next season then I would say it was well worth it. Yes I would love to see the boys lift the shield the first time round but hey ho I cant make it till next sunday and seeing the lads celebrate then wont take any shine off the occassion as far as I am concerned. The good men who have put their hands in their own pockets are taking us forward and I for one want to ride this train that they have made available. Excellent marketing decision making use of the F Factor. These fellas are clearly good eggs and have backed their words with actions. So I for one am more then happy to trust their judgement in the best ways to develop our club. I am thankful we are in this position. What a nice problem to have eh?? One game left and been able to worry about when and where we first see the shield for topping the league. UP THE ROVERS! ONWARDS AND UPWARDS!
  3. It is not bad idea to be honest and I would go for that everytime everyone together singing away. It would certainly look good for sky games. The only thing is some people like standing behind the sticks as personal preference. In ideal world it would be nice to have terracing at the side of the pitch.
  4. 1) Stu Dickens-The chase back to make that awesome tackle just sums up what a legend he is. 2)Ross Divorty-Class Act-Won us the penalty and then backed it up with a crucial try. 3)Liam Welham-Unsung hero at times. The fans were awesome. Away games are class and the atmosphere beats home games atmosphere everytime.
  5. To be honest totally disagree with the whole play of system to become Champions. Super League is a joke making it so you can win the whole thing by finishing 8th and being able to win the whole thing from finishing 6th in our league is as bad. For me if you show consistancy by being top of the tree after the league games that is what should make you champions. Clearly it will never happen since the abolishment for promotion and relegation but the championship should have exactly the same format as championship 1. Table toppers are the champions, teams two to six play-off. I will be proud as punch if we top the pile at the end of the league games. Cracking season so far. Come on Fev lets finish the job. Rovers Rovers Rovers! :D
  6. No neither did I. Thought they were on a break too but come to think of it now they do have a game in hand so it would make sense.
  7. Granted, but we certainly look like we could have done with with one on Sunday and given Fax been on a roll I think it will benefit us rather then them. Just my personal opinion though! Rovers Rovers Rovers!
  8. Fax are on a rich vein of form at the moment and will be a real threat. There is no question Fax will be up for revenge but I am afraid that all good things have to come to an end. Given our rest time I think our attack will be as potent as ever and our defence will cope with the waves of attack from Fax. I feel that the Dewsbury game will have been a kick up the backside that we need. For these reasons I am going to break the vote mould and go for a Fev win in this crucial game. Fev 20 Fax 12 Att 2606 Mom Liam Finn. Up the Rovers!
  9. What are the rumours with JJP now? Which club is he linked with now? If the rumours are true, we'll whatever will be will be. I dont think anyone could personally knock him if has a season with Fev and moves on to Super League if thats the case. It will be a case I guess of just enjoying his talent while we have him and worrying about him going anywhere if and when it is ever confirmed. Personally think he would be best served with two seasons with us in the championship before considering anything else. But is that just me being selfish??
  10. Wouldn't mind seeing any of the yorkshire teams play Leigh in the final. Hope Leigh progress for the simple fact that would give them extra two fixtures to play and maybe just maybe give us an edge fitness wise at the business end of the season. Although I would prefer a Yorkshire team to win it, I really wouldn't be that fussed if Leigh won it for the simple fact that we could say we lost to the winners.
  11. Yes mate I guess thats what we were looking for with Danny. When Danny has played he has been steady away and done well but nothing earth moving. I think maybe we were too over optimistic when he signed thinking we may have a fresh new Kevin Sinfield style player fresh out the box. Never know bit more coaching from DP and the staff you never know how he might progress from a personal point of view cant see him at 13 though in a specialist role.
  12. Yeah liked the 'copy consultants' blue and white hoops was a decent shirt and if memory serves me right the shirt that followed that in 91/92 Season was basically the same apart from it had beazer homes on the front. Would definately take an update version of this shirt either with a collar or without and the old crest would have to be on it somewhere. Quite like the idea of having both a long sleeved option and a short sleeved.
  13. Not sure who it would be but I wouldn't mind seeing a ball handling loose forward who would be capable of plugging a gap at stand off if Briggys was injured or suspended. Not that I have a problem with the lads who have played 13 this season as they have all done decent jobs just a personal opinion that it would be nice to have a specialist loose forward.
  14. Yeah good point. Didn't really like using that example
  15. As good as Stuey could be at times when goal kicking and very dynamic for a prop I didn't always fancy our chances when he was way out wide. With Kyle this season Im prety confident every time he tee's up. He has really come on leaps and bounds and that extra 2 points each time cn make a big difference at the end of the game.
  16. Couldn't agree more. What a spot on season so far. We are bound to be a bit tired due to the games we have played and the intensity of them. After all the lads are only human.Dewsbury played well and got what they deserved for coming close but not scoring enough points that being a bonus point. Not being funny but how many times have teams like Man United played rubbish for 89 minutes in football but still be in touching distance of teams and beaten them in the dying seconds. Thats what being championship contenders is all about having guts and character as a squad even when your not at the top of your game. UP THE ROVERS!
  17. I dont totally disagree with the bonus point but aren't a great fan of it. I feel that if your are going to give a BP to a team as a reward for having a good defensive performance then there must be a flip side of the coin as well. Take high scoring teams like us for example we dont get anything extra for beating teams by large margins other then a better points difference. I Think that if you beat a team by say a margin of 24 points or more you should get a bonus point for playing high scoring entertaining rugby making it four points for a win if you win by this margin. Just think how many times that would have gone in our favour this season. Just a thought!
  18. I'm hoping that a fair few more are going to make the trip to justify another coach. Other wise it's a long drive from Brid on Tuesday evening for us. Either way ill be there. Cant wait. Up the Rovers!
  19. League table is a delight to look at! Looks like Dewsbury are the new bonus point kings these days instead of Sheffield, they just need a few wins to add to em. Glad we are on top of the pile pre televised game. Lets keep the league role on and do a professional job on Tolouse! Up the Rovers!
  20. Cant see us putting second string team out, although I would agree that I wouldn't want to do a Leeds United. The thing is all our boys will want to play at the very highest standard and this is their chance to square up against some of the best larker is in the land. I would be happy with a good effort on the pitch, a good turnout from the blue & white army, sing me heart on the terraces all afternoon and no injuries. Then if we end up losing back to winning ways in front of the sky cameras against Tolouse!
  21. Cant wait till next sunday, regradless of the result sure the lads will do us proud. Is there any indication of how many tickets have been bought by the blue & white army! We are Top of the League, say we are top o the league!
  22. What a performance, what intensity and what an atmosphere. That home atmosphere and general buzz around the ground and club in general takes me back 94/95 Season and the game when we beat Saints at home in the run up to the Challenge Cup Semi at Elland Road against Leeds. Anyone who thinks it was just down to Fax being poor is in a dream world. Fev were nothing but awesome in all departments. Defence was out of this world and to be able to play attacking rugby league like that in those conditions was superb. What would we have done to them on a dry pitch???? The spirt of the fans and players is immense. I dont know whether Briggsy knew it when he stuck that conversation over at the end, but that meant that the margin we beat Fax by was better then the margin Leigh beat em by. People waffle on about how the league isn't won in april or the GF for that matter but surely its about enjoying the moment and at this moment Rovers are top of the league and best thing since sliced bread having beaten both last years finalists. UP THE ROVERS!!! :D
  23. Can't wait roast beef dinner whilst watching Saints and Wigan and then jump in the car to drive from the coast to the promised land to watch some proper Rugby. ROVERS 13 Fax 4 Att 2010 MOM JJP COME ROVERS!
  24. The atmosphere that used to be generated in th Bullock Shed was second to none. I'm not sure why it wasn't done at the time but I feel that there was potential to build the community stand at the railway end of the ground and build a suitable score board with it. This would have left us with three covered areas of the ground and still obtained the desired effect. I'm sure that there was a perfectly good reason why this didn't happen. Another option that could be considered would be to remove one or two centre sections of seating from the community stand to allow a standing option at the side of the pitch. I'm sure a top quality atmosphere could be whipped up for the lads there, almost a little like a new bullock shed, but keeping the seating option as well. The negative side you could say that this maybe would down grade the standard of the stadium. On a positive note it would increase the stadium capacity a little and maybe get back that atmosphere that assisted in making POR a difficult place to come away with any points. With the potential for the plans for the new stadium to be followed through surely this alteration wouldn't cause us major problems, however I haven't got a clue about the finacial implications it may incur. Just a thought!
