Trinity owner has big plans
Monkeymagic22 replied to Martyn Sadler's topic in The General Rugby League Forum
Exactly right mate, but it’s going to be different for Trinity, who seem to know more about it, than supporters of teams, who have actually experienced it. -

Massey has been rumoured for a while, but the last 2 signings were left field. I’ve also heard rumours about a couple of players from Oz, but no idea who. -

I really don’t want dual reg, and speak as a fan who has actually had a team that used it. When we were dual reg with Leeds, we didn’t spend big, and weren’t the favourites to win the League. When we had a huge budget last season, yes, we failed, but we didn’t resort to dual reg. And to be fair our owner, didn’t mouth off about spending the biggest budget ever. Yes, let’s see what happens at the end of the season, no pressure on us, but plenty for Powell and Trinity. Let’s hope that Daryl’s ability to win those big matches makes all the difference. F -

Exactly right, Fev are struggling to get a squad together, but I still dont want dual reg. For Wakey to do it, with their ‘huge budget’ is embarrassing. -
Thread on other Championship teams

This season, with a likely smaller squad dual reg would make sense for Fev. However, I just don’t like it, players come in and out, and sometimes at the espense of our own players. Maybe some season long loans would be best, so long as it’s not the shambles that occurred with Riley Dean. -

I accept that, but you are apparently spending the most money ever in the Championship, but are still using duel reg?. Fev may have failed last season, but at least we were self sufficient enough to only use our own players. -

Especially as they have their own academy and also are claiming to be spending the most ever money in the Championship. -

Hopefully a full preseason would help Day be better for next season, as he did have a disrupted season this injury. Personally I’d probably retain him for next season. -

Yes definitely and you can’t blame players for that, but it’s not worked for us. And our budget is tighter this year. Personally I’m happy how the recruitment is going, some established players and hopefully a few like Bowes. -

We’ve really had enough of these type of players. At least Addy and Reynolds have a connection with Fev. -

Thanks, a quick search on twitter and he seems to get good wraps. Could be a good pick up, maybe a bit like Lacans. -

Any good, never heard of him. -
With older players, there’s more chance of injuries and it generally takes them longer to recover. It’s a risk for Trinity, especially if they are paying him decent money. Which ever way you look at it, MG is 35 and is on the downgrade.

Jack Bussey signed for next season. Hopefully fully recovered from his leg break, he’ll be back to his best next season. -

The signings so far, look very encouraging to me. All look like quality players. If Addy can stay fit, he’ll be superb, and what’s not to like about a Lacans/Reynolds half back partnership. And then we’ve got probably the best prop in the league in Springer, as well Jones and Aekins, who would get in every team in the Championship. -

Neither of these two have been confirmed as re-signing as yet. There would have to be some doubts that Josh will even return to playing. -
Aekins will be full back for us, so Wynne would be either centre or winger. Thanks for the feedback.

Don’t you rate him?.

Centre, winger or full back. Centre most likely. -
A Fev signing to be announced at 5pm. I’d guess that it’s Massey.
