  1. Hull Kit is very smart and getting every sponsor to have a mono version of their logo always looks better. Clashing colours and white boxes are still the scourge of modern rugby jersey designs.
  2. Oxen must have over ordered their Navy Ink.......England and now Leeds swapping traditional colours for a dark blue. They could always offer Fev a deal......... we're happy to have everything Navy. The Leeds kit is nice enough and looks like they have just used the Leeds Building Society colours
  3. There's a twitter account called @shoddy_castore which documents all the failings of the brand since it became the kit supplier for Newcastle United and it's safe to say they've had quite a few issues since they switched from Puma.
  4. I'd put my money on Leigh staying up at the expense of Wake next year. Then with Toulouse probably going back up IMG just need London in SL and they'd be well on their way with their plans. After that I'd expect well funded expansion projects to eventually replace the likes of Cas, Leigh and maybe Hull KR as they try to grow the sport into newer markets. Long term if it all works they'll want 2 teams in London too.
  5. I wonder if the IMG future involves popular brands normal people have heard of being interested in Rugby League in England again? Apart from Hummel which is niche at best were heading for a world of Oxen, O'neills and the return of Ellgren. Where did the glory days of Canterbury, Umbro and Puma go (didn't Wigan have Adidas and Nike at one point)........even ISC gave up on us.
  6. He had some sort of role than took over as caretaker coach when Powell went to Cas in 2013 for the rest of that season. Finished top. Then moved on as we'd already lined up John Bastian who was a disaster and lasted 11 games
  7. Can't be worse than McDermott..........Been a while since I've seen a Fev team so uninspired as we were this season. We just got progressively worse as the season went on and the expansive rugby we played under Webster and Carr eroded away. Hopefully he'll help us bring in some good young forwards and get the best out of Ford.
  8. My only hope from the latest restructure is we end up with a competitive semi pro second tier once the dust settles. When the teams aren't evenly matched RL is rubbish.
  9. Gonna be a lot of Grade B clubs I think.......the problem will be growing as a B club outside the top division when all the B clubs in the top division enjoy all the benefits of SL. It's gonna be a boring spectacle without the risk of relegation but that's what the game wants. I'd be happy enough with a national pro game with 12 teams the size of Leeds and Wigan.......we've probably got about 6 cat A clubs......getting another 6 to that level will be the hard part...... IMG probably want London and Toulouse in there......maybe a Welsh and Scottish club eventually too. We can then have a competitive semi pro game below it for the rest of us peasants.
  10. It's the coaches job to make the players play well.........we have a squad of proven quality at this level and not reaching the final is very poor really. It's like he was preparing a style of rugby to combat a team that didn't exist.... Listen to him in the video from last week (around 29 minutes in) doesn't make sense to me when you see what they produced on the pitch. Batley stood up to our conservative one man rugby and we didn't offer much else til the last 20 minutes when I think the players threw the game plan out of the window and had a go.
  11. What a Coach he was.......got us to a GF from 5th beating Leigh and Toulouse on the road. I think we were leading at half time away at Toronto in the final too. I'd be looking down under for our next coach........the Aussies a miles ahead of us........ just look what a 2nd grade Aussie coach has done at Leeds in half a season.
  12. We need to lose to sides like Batley so we can beat Leigh......... all part of the process Listen around 29 minutes in Bring Chissy back and get a new coach. Congratulations to Batley.......Great club and well deserved........good luck in the final.
  13. It'a all part of the process............listen around 29 minutes
  14. On a side not I noticed in the Oxen shop in Xscape that there's now a full range on unsponsored NRL 'replica'. https://www.eliteprosports.co.uk/nrl/nrl-supporter-shirts/ Are the Australian brands just not bothering sending us any gear anymore? I've seen some Classic and Dynasty gear on sale but that's about it.
  15. Taking into consideration all the rationale behind introducing Navy blue hinting at the GB lions kit (not Navy Blue) and Navy selling better than red flag style designs then I can safely say that the New England World Cup kit is terrible. Just looks like a template catalogue kit any amateur team could order with an England badge stuck on. Not keen on any of the England flag kits either but this new blue one is extra rubbish......struggling to think of a worse England or GB kit. And I'm a Fev fan who loves the colour Navy.
  16. As for everyone else........1991 North Sydney Bears is class along with pretty much every Sydney Roosters home kit
  17. Can't beat traditional fev butchers stripe umbro pre sponsors
  18. We'll just have to wait and see how competitive it is.........the fact there will now be a competition for places will be far more appealing. Teams playing out the season knowing they can be relegated is far more of a farce IMO
  19. Just a point about there being nothing anyone outside the sl top eight can win with there being no more NRC and so on........it's all about your perspective on success and winning.........I think most fans outside the top six realise they are not gonna win the challenge cup or be super league champions........This new format creates exciting meaningful play off game that teams can build towards (or fall into)...... As a fan of a lower league soccer team I'd much rather my team get in the play offs and do well than win the Johnstone paints trophy.........I think most fans of teams who play in the NRC would rather do well in these new play offs than win the NRC IMO
  20. Awesome news...really happy This will create more big games with more at stake at all levels and more excitement for any prospective new fans of the sport IMO. If teams go bust it's cos they are run badly.......it's not the RFL's fault and not because they got relegated. I might watch Super League before the play off's now as the threat of relegation this year should throw up some spicy fixtures!!!!
  21. Well yes i think the new format would be a good idea so if that is self interest then so be it! Not so sure it's the best thing for my team with our record in sudden death rugby but we'll see.
  22. Article in the Yorkshire post on the 12/8 split today http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/looking-to-bridge-the-gap-to-super-league-1-6361565 Pretty much sums up what i like about the idea
  23. It is..... but the key is there's more to win. I'd imagine the eventual champions of each tier get more prize money and a trophy but you're getting 4 big winners of promotion/or retaining a top 12 place the next season. When leeds united got promoted by finishing second behind norwich i didn't car that we weren't the league champions......we'd won promotion.
  24. The sports you mention are north american sports spread out across a huge country and so P&R is not applicable to them really....they all only have one nationwide top division and below them are college sports. If super league was spread out across europe with most major european cities involved i doubt P&R would be an option but in it's current state it is.
