  1. It was the '89 2nd division final i believe
  2. If that was a modern super league game it would take about 11 hours to finish with the 3 minute stoppages for every knock-on, penalty, scrum etc, whatever happened to 'play-on' from a knock-on?
  3. I think Opoul merged with Salses at one point before going their seperate ways and folding, incidentally if your over in Perpignan and Salses have a home game, go - the whole village turns out in the square for food and drinks then walks down to the stade, it was a great experience when we went.
  4. Rochdale i've heard.
  5. Willing to take £10 each for them.
  6. I have 4 tickets for Wembley in the Hull KR end, Section 211. This is the view. Willing to listen to offers for them, individually or as a whole, these are £50 priced tickets. Anyone interested pm me, thanks
  7. Try the Arch or the corner house just off Wembley high road.
  8. What he actually said was he wouldn't sell the Giants shares to HTFC to allow their owner full ownership of the site until he has planning permission for a new stadium in Huddersfield rubber stamped, i presume the plan is still the same re moving to the Shay temporarily.
  9. Historically i'd say Dave Valentine or Lionel Cooper, in my living memory it's gotta be Danny Brough, took a pretty decent side to the next level, unfortunately as a club we never took the ultimate step up but Broughy was something else on his day, we've never even remotely come close to replacing him.
  10. This is great, Well done to the Ladies too for playing along!
  11. Leeds have one called 'Elland road' but i don't know many Elland* fans from Leeds * Elland's football team is actually called Huddersfield Amateurs to confuse things even more!
  12. oops, hadn't noticed that, i've edited it.
  13. Wigan Hull KR Warrington Saints Then either Leeds, Leigh or Catalan, Catalan if they get their act together are a decent outfit, Leeds are going well. I think Wakefield, Leigh and Hull FC will run out of gas in the 2nd half of the season. I'll probably be miles off though in the end.
  14. That figure is actually flawed as the football club announce the attendance on tickets issued not the actual number within the ground, some town fans i know havw put the actual attendance as low as 9,000 and usually between 12-14,000. Obviously when they were in the premier league a lot of folk who supported other premier league teams also became town fans but soon dropped off when they were relegated and went back to their 'proper team'. As i've said previously there are lots of football fans in Huddersfield who don't support town, in my group of rugby friends there's Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, Bolton, Sheff Wed, Leeds, Wimbledon fans, none are HTFC fans either. In fact i probably know more Leeds fans from Huddersfield than town fans. Huddersfield isn't really a big anything town now apart from students and commuters for the bigger cities either side.
  15. He stopped using the forum due to abuse, folk picking arguments and being condescending for the sake of it as far as i know.
  16. Doing it is ok as long as you have people chasing and challenging, we had neither.
  17. He had a 60% share in the stadium management company but that company was still viable and at the time there was no concern or need for a seperate party to control the stadium as the management company did it, i can only presume Ken had no pressing desire to spend extra money on something that he probbly felt didn't need it. The football club owner wants the stadium and the land, what his plans for the football club are i don't know but he's there to make money not appease 3rd division football supporters, i'm pretty sure he won't give them a 2nd thought if he gets the surrounding land and more dollars in his pocket. Ken has previously said he has a great relationship with him and up to now is the only town chairman he's happy and willing to do business with so i'm pretty sure Mr Nagle will do Ken a good deal, after all he can't get his hands on the land until Ken is happy to sell.
  18. Indeed, but he/Giants/they didn't have control of the stadium, that wasn't an option, the control of the stadium was solely under KDSL until last year when they went bust and HTFC basically bought the control rights off them.
  19. Probably, we did before but times are different now and there's no guarantee of a return. Last time we stayed full-time in a part-time league.
  20. Ken's never had complete control, up until last year no-one has, Ken and his companies had the majority shares up until 2013 but as the council still had 40% there was no 'control'. As far as i recall Kirklees council sold/gave their 40% shares to the HTFC chairman meaning he had 80% and had assumed control of the stadium due to this. We can still play at the stadium as long as we want, we aren't being forced to leave we are choosing to because it isn't viable to keep our club there. Until the Giants agree to sell their shares to HTFC then the football club won't own it outright and Ken has stated he won't sell until a site is approved for a new stadium in Huddersfield.
  21. Ken Davy vows to keep Huddersfield in Huddersfield!
