  1. Myler and Crabtree? Myler is no certainty for his Club. Eorl does not cut it at the top level.
  2. Australia has had two seasons of a several episode (around 6) series that tested Union, League, Soccer, Olympic Atheletes etc. Speed, endurance, co ordination etc The same player has one both seasons Billy Slater. http://www.greatestathlete.com.au/
  3. What did Smith say two years ago? Best Preparation, best Homework, no stone unturned, yadda yadda yadda. Turned out the Clubs loyalties came before their National pride and they were ###### anyway. Macca is not a top Coach he has proved that beyond question. The only thing saving England is the massive injury list from the Southern Hemisphere teams and the usually decisions by several top players to go under the knife in the off season to be ready for the start of the NRL season rather than front up for the "Four Nations"
  4. Dally, it has been espoused that Oz can field 3 teams at Test level, maybe this year will test that presumption? I think its healthy for new or untried players to test their arm against England and NZ. A poster on another Forum suggested that Aus could field a Toyota Cup Team and beat England, I disagree. The third string team may do better than the premier squad with the fire and hunger to cement a spot in the top squad. How will Bird and Prince (again) or the Balmain Centres go in a Kangaroo shirt?
  5. The Bookies have England as outsiders in third, do you think they are right and will you be placing a bet ? https://www.sportsbet.com.au/sports/event/S...EventID/1312246 http://www.tab.com.au/Sports/Betting/Place...ption=FFNFOURWN https://www.luxbet.com/index.php?cPath=3392...p;psid=33921311 http://www.betchoice.com/sports/?sport=Rug...20Winner%202010
  6. I have been to Cumberland Oval several times.
  7. Birchgrove and Wentworth Park have not hosted games in a very long time.
  8. Wellens was shown up in 2008WC he never did that much before that at Test level. Tomkins would be better at Half Back where he is in the line. If Tomkins is at FB, Australia and the Kiwis will target him with high kicks and isolate him one on one with the runners in the SH backlines. Tomkins v Vatuvei or Hayne etc will be a non event. O'Donnell is a fine player but not at the top of the Tree, he had Tomkins looking like a speed bump. Not strong enough or tall enough for Test fullback. Height 178 cm (5 ft 10 in) Weight 77 kg (170 lb; 12 st 2 lb)
  9. Thats interesting. He is a Club Director, The Dolphins had a tough year this time around. I know the Club reasonably well, I used to live not far from there.
  10. Is Widdop at this point of his career with less than 1/2 a dozen Club games to his name?
  11. Registered Club players? Is that including Juniors? Where are those figures from Max.
  12. No utility back on the bench? Roby or Sinfield may well be able to play in the Halves but who is covering Centre, Wing and Fullback without totally reshuffling the team. Test matches are not the place to move 3 players around short of an emergency. In the Final last year things went #### up when there was no adequate replacement for a Centre.
  13. How many first grade games has Widdop played this year? Is he better with a handful of games in the NRL than all of the SL Fullbacks? Is Eastmond healthy?
  14. Big names sell tickets. If you don't mind watching two teams play each other with no idea who is playing for each team then that is great but it is not the case with most people.
  15. He must be ###### then Spud with those two "blunders" No wonder we are contemplating Widdop at Fullback because he is as good or better than Brain Fart, with Widdops vast experience he will be similar or better than Slater. Are you Maccas advisor by any chance? I can think of one player in Englands backs that made more mistakes in one recent game against the Aussies than all of Slaters in a couple of seasons. He is still considered a top shelf player, so much so that Union wanted him then changed their minds.
  16. Are you asking for one? Your Ego is getting all hot and sweaty, does it need wiping down?
  17. What has his attempt to keep the ball in play got to do with his defence? You know when you have the ball in your hands you are in attack? Burgess beat him, isn't he allowed to be stepped or make a mistake? Australia have attacking players throughout their back line any one from Half back to Fullback is capable of scoring from nearly anywhere on the field, I doubt Slater is picked just for his attack, its his complete game. Slaters defence is equal to Haynes or Stewarts or Hunts and all are better than any Fullback England has fielded in recent years. Trust you? I don't trust your opinion Spud you think Second rowers and Centres are the same and are inter changeable at the drop of a hat.
  18. Fair enough KT, I could not be arsed reading the link. When I read your "naming rights at the NEW stadium" I missed the some of bit. ( it may have been the typos that confused me) What does 100k buy nowadays? One good player for a season, unless its 990,00 pounds but I guess if it was they would say so.
  19. Diggerland :D :D If I did not know better I would think it was Japanese set up
  20. Who?????????? Are the naming rights to the built stadium or the engineers model? I would have thought naming rights to a Stadium would have been a 7 figure number. Has to be better than "Diggerland"
  21. But players like Hayne and Jennings that are born in Western Sydney consider themselves Australian, Hayne only has one Fijian parent. They both knew they were allowed to pad out the Island teams without jeopardizing their futures with Australia. If they were told make a choice and its final neither would have played for Island teams. In simple terms its like someone saying there is a big game coming to town and you have not been picked for the first team, you have another chance to be involved with another team to give them a hand would you like to? Answer YES Nothing more or less.
  22. Maybe in the Andy Gregory era. Smart ***** usually get sorted quickly in the modern era.
